Quarantine Activities

Quarantine Activities

✏️Posted in Mid March

Dear Parents/Guardians & Students,

First of all, on behalf of Mr. Whelan, Ms. Hejnal, Mrs. Halkadakis Ms. Lewis and myself, I want all students to know that we care about each one of you very much, and we miss you all! We hope that you're relaxed and well during this extended break.

This unexpected time off came with very little warning, and not enough time to prepare for the homework that it was going to require. Also, approximately 40% of the 5th grade students were absent on Friday, March 13, which was our last day (Don't worry, we understand), and that means many of you did not bring home your books and supplies. That being said, we are going to be providing a wide variety of assignments and learning activities for you to choose from. All of these are geared to keep students on track so that there isn't significant gap in learning. Pick and choose activities from each subject area based on what you have access to.
If you struggle with anything, or have any questions, send me a text (440) 263-6974

Dear Parents/Guardians & Students (Pt 2)

Since this page was set up, the quarantine time and school closure has been extended. Therefore, the district is probably going to give us additional instructions necessary for long term "distance learning" (basically home schooling). Until then, continue to work on these activities. More will be added in the meantime. As always, if you need me, let me know. 😁

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

I've started reaching out to everyone using a new texting app. This app translates into any language and allows me to contact you all at one time. This saves me A LOT of time, and your phones won't be blowing up with all the replies that you'd get with an ordinary group text. Although you can reply to the texting app, please don't feel discouraged from contacting me on my cell phone if you need to. As always, you can still reach out to me at 440-263-6974 if you need anything. If you haven't started receiving updates from my new texting app, please let me know so I can look into updating any incorrect information that I've entered into the app.

I made this math lesson for my daughter, who is currently a 3rd grader. Since some of you have younger siblings in 3rd and 4th grade, I figured it was worth sharing. (All 5th graders can benefit from this activity as review too!)
